Fatehpur Sikri fällt bei jedem Agra-Tagesausflug hinten runter. Es liegt 40 km westlich der Stadt, also eine Stunde pro Richtung, die Sie schlicht nicht haben, wenn Sie auch noch nach Delhi zurückfahren. Eine Übernachtung löst das.
Tag eins
Abholung an Ihrem Hotel oder am Flughafen Delhi, privater klimatisierter Wagen über den Yamuna Expressway. Am Nachmittag das Agra Fort, dann der Taj Mahal im Abendlicht. Check-in im Hotel.
Tag zwei
Der Taj zum Sonnenaufgang, wenn Sie mögen, dann westwärts nach Fatehpur Sikri. Akbar baute diese Hauptstadt ab 1571 in rotem Sandstein und gab sie binnen etwa fünfzehn Jahren wieder auf, sehr wahrscheinlich weil das Wasser ausblieb. Das Buland Darwaza mit 54 Metern, die fünf offenen Geschosse des Panch Mahal und die Marmor-Dargah von Salim Chishti, an deren Gitter Frauen bis heute Fäden knoten, sind alle erhalten, und Gedränge gibt es selten. Danach die Fahrt zurück nach Delhi.
