Two days, both fast trains, one hotel night.
The Gatimaan and Vande Bharat services both run Delhi to Agra in around 100 minutes. Using them for a two-day trip means you arrive rested on day one and get home in the early evening on day two, with a full night in Agra between.
Day one
Hotel pickup in Delhi for the morning train. A car and guide meet you at Agra Cantt. Agra Fort in the afternoon, then the Taj Mahal as the light goes warm. Check in to your hotel.
Day two
The Taj at sunrise, which is the reason to stay over. The gate opens about half an hour before dawn and the first batch has the complex nearly to itself. After breakfast there is time for Itimad-ud-Daulah or Fatehpur Sikri, then the return train.

Four at checkout: private AC car from Delhi without the train, or the train version with a 3-star, 4-star or 5-star hotel night.

Worth knowing
The Taj is closed on Fridays, and the Gatimaan does not run on Fridays either. Vande Bharat has its own weekly off day, which we confirm for your dates.

Train seats are tied to your dates and booked in advance.
Carry photo ID; Indian Railways checks it on board.
