Full description

Picked up anywhere in the NCR, including the airport

Hotel, residence or airport, and anywhere in Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad or Faridabad. That matters more than it sounds — a great many visitors are staying outside central Delhi, and most itineraries assume they are not.

Day 1: Delhi, then Agra

City highlights in the morning: Qutub Minar, begun 1193, with the iron pillar that has stood sixteen centuries without rusting; Humayun's Tomb, the 1560s Mughal garden tomb the Taj descends from; and India Gate.

Then the scenic drive south on the Yamuna Expressway.

Day 2: Agra

The Taj Mahal at sunrise. Shah Jahan began it in 1632, the year after Mumtaz Mahal died bearing their fourteenth child. Twenty-two years, twenty thousand workers, marble hauled 400 km from Makrana in Rajasthan.

Your guide covers the calligraphy cut in increasing sizes so it reads the same height from the ground; the pietra dura inlay, up to sixty stones in one flower; the four minarets, tilted outward so an earthquake would drop them clear of the tomb; and the single asymmetry in the whole composition.

Agra Fort, and the Musamman Burj where he died a prisoner of his own son.

Day 3: Agra to Jaipur

Fatehpur Sikri on the road — Akbar's capital of 1571, abandoned after fourteen years and preserved because of it.

Day 4: Jaipur, then Delhi

Amber Fort above Maota Lake, the City Palace, Jantar Mantar and the Hawa Mahal, then the drive back.

Peak season (October–March) sees heavy tourist footfall, especially on weekends and holidays. Early morning visits (before 8 AM) are essential to avoid congestion. Our licensed guides know the optimal routes and timing to navigate crowds efficiently. Consider weekday visits for a significantly quieter experience.

Delhi's top heritage sites include the Red Fort, Qutub Minar, Humayun's Tomb, India Gate, and the bustling lanes of Old Delhi. See our things to do in Delhi guide for a comprehensive list with insider tips from local guides.
We recommend 2–3 days to cover Delhi's major highlights comfortably. Use our Delhi 1-day itinerary if you're short on time. Many travelers combine Delhi with a day trip to Agra for the Taj Mahal and then continue to Jaipur for the Golden Triangle circuit.
