The express service covers Delhi to Agra in roughly 100 minutes against three hours by road, and it is the one part of the day traffic cannot interfere with. Train tickets and monument entry are both included here, so there is nothing to buy at either end.
How the day runs
Pickup from your hotel or the airport in Delhi, then the morning train from Hazrat Nizamuddin in AC chair car or executive class depending on your option. At Agra Cantt a private car and your guide meet the train and stay with you all day.
The Taj Mahal with a proper guided visit, then Agra Fort, where Shah Jahan spent his final years confined by his son with the Taj visible across the river. Late afternoon back to the station, and a car meets you in Delhi.
