The Taj Mahal and a tiger, in the same trip.
Ranthambore is about four hours from Agra, which makes this combination geographically sensible rather than a stretch. Over three days you get the two things most visitors to north India want and usually have to choose between.
Ranthambore is built around a tenth-century fort with dry deciduous forest grown up around it. It holds a genuine tiger population, and the animals here are habituated to vehicles, which is why sighting rates are what they are. You also get leopard, sloth bear, sambar, marsh crocodile and a great many birds.
How it runs
Pickup in Delhi in a private air-conditioned vehicle. Agra for the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, then on to Ranthambore for the safari, with accommodation included. Back to Delhi at the end.

Worth knowing
Ranthambore closes from 1 July to 30 September for the monsoon. Zones 6 to 10 sometimes stay open; the core zones do not.
Safari slots are government-allocated and limited. They sell out well ahead from October to March and around Indian holidays. Book as early as you can.
A tiger sighting is not guaranteed and nobody honest will promise one. The zone is allotted by the forest department, not chosen by you or by us.
Morning safaris are better for sightings and genuinely cold in an open vehicle in December. Bring layers.
The Taj is closed on Fridays. We will plan the Agra day around it.
