Der Hawa Mahal wurde 1799 von Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh fuer die Damen des Rajput-Harems erbaut. Er hat etwa 953 kleine und grosse Fenster, von wo aus sie die koenigliche Prozession auf den Strassen beobachten konnten, ohne von Maennern gesehen zu werden.

City Palace.

Der City Palace ist einer der prachtvollsten Palaeste, die man in Jaipur sehen kann. Der City Palace wurde im XVIII. Jahrhundert von Sawai Jai Singh erbaut. Er plante und baute die Aussenmauern, und spaetere Ergaenzungen wurden von aufeinanderfolgenden Herrschern bis ins XX. Jahrhundert vorgenommen. Er ist einer der Palaeste Indiens, der noch von der koeniglichen Familie genutzt wird.

Jantar Mantar
