Desde Agra hay unos 240 km, unas cuatro horas, con Fatehpur Sikri de camino si lo quiere. Desde Delhi son 270 km por una autopista buena, unas cinco horas.
Lo que ve
El Fuerte Amer es la razón de venir. Construido desde 1592 sobre el lago Maota, fuerte por fuera y palacio por dentro. La sala de espejos Sheesh Mahal, donde miles de teselas convexas multiplican una sola llama por toda la habitación. La puerta pintada Ganesh Pol. El Sukh Niwas, refrescado por canales de agua tallados en el mármol.
Después la ciudad amurallada según dé el tiempo: el City Palace, el Hawa Mahal, el Jantar Mantar, y el Jal Mahal en el lago como parada panorámica.
