Doing Jaipur as a day trip from Delhi sounded mad but it worked brilliantly. Our driver collected us at 6am sharp from our hotel in Connaught Place and the expressway drive was smooth. The guide met us on the way and was a proper history buff. Amber Fort at mid-morning before the heat peaked was the right call. Long day, but we saw everything we hoped to.

We took the all-inclusive option and it was worth every euro. No fumbling for tickets at each gate, lunch sorted, cold water always in the car. Hawa Mahal at first light was stunning for photos. The private car meant we could stop whenever my wife wanted a picture. Our guide even walked us to the best viewpoint over Maota Lake at Amber Fort.

Fantastic value for a private car and guide all the way from Delhi. The climb up to Amber Fort is steeper than I expected, so wear good shoes, but the views were incredible. City Palace and Jantar Mantar were fascinating with someone explaining the astronomy. We were back at our Delhi hotel by 9pm, tired but so happy we did it.

Really solid day overall and the guide knew his stuff. My only gripe is the traffic getting out of Delhi in the morning ate into our time, so a couple of stops felt a bit rushed, especially Jal Mahal which was just a quick photo. Amber Fort was also heaving with crowds by the time we arrived. Still, seeing the Pink City in a day was worth the early alarm.

Very well organised from start to finish. The confirmation email had all the pickup details and the driver was punctual and careful. What I appreciated most was the flexibility of a private tour, we skipped one shopping stop and spent longer at City Palace instead. October weather was perfect for wandering the courtyards. Highly recommend the air-con car for the long drive.

Booked the all-inclusive tier for my parents and myself and it took all the stress out. Entrance tickets and lunch handled, so we just enjoyed the sights. Our guide was patient with my dad who walks slowly and arranged a jeep up to Amber Fort for him. Jaipur is genuinely gorgeous and the honeycomb Hawa Mahal facade is even better in person.

A memorable day and the forts are breathtaking. Be prepared though, it is a very long day with roughly ten hours of driving in total, and by March the afternoon sun was strong while walking around City Palace. The car was comfortable and cold water helped a lot. Guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Just go in with realistic expectations about the pace of a same-day trip.

Excellent experience. The private guide met us on the highway as promised and immediately felt trustworthy. We loved that everything was in one seamless day, pickup, the drive, all the major Jaipur landmarks, and drop-off back in Delhi. Jal Mahal floating on the lake at sunset on the way out was a beautiful end. Great option if you are short on time but want to see the Pink City.

Frequently Asked Questions

Your tour covers round-trip travel from New Delhi to Jaipur and back in a private air-conditioned car, along with a private government-approved guide who meets you along the way. Also included are hotel pickup and drop-off, drinking mineral water, and all taxes and charges. Monument entrance tickets and lunch in Jaipur are included only if you select an option that covers them (the All-Inclusive options), so choose accordingly at checkout.
This is a full-day trip, and because Jaipur is roughly 260 km from Delhi (around 5 to 5.5 hours each way on the NH48 expressway), an early start of 6 to 7 AM is essential to make the most of the sightseeing hours. Expect a long but rewarding day, typically returning to your Delhi hotel late evening. If you'd rather stay overnight and explore at a gentler pace, consider a dedicated Jaipur full-day sightseeing tour by car with guide.
Your guide will take you to Jaipur's icons: the honeycomb facade of Hawa Mahal, the hilltop Amber Fort, the royal City Palace, and the floating Jal Mahal on Man Sagar Lake. Depending on time and traffic, there's often a chance to see the astronomical instruments at Jantar Mantar too. The pace is brisk given the drive from Delhi, so your guide will prioritise the highlights for the best experience.
Yes. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included — the driver collects you from your chosen location in New Delhi, and your tour guide meets you on the way to Jaipur. Please share your exact hotel name and address after booking so we can confirm pickup timing. If you're staying in outer Delhi or near the airport, let us know in advance so the early start allows enough drive time.
The All-Inclusive Same-Day Jaipur Tour with Approved Guide at $80 is the entry option covering the car and guide. The Same Day Return Jaipur Tour by Car at $656 and the All Inclusive Same Day Jaipur Tour by Car at $1,640 are private-party packages — the higher tiers bundle in monument entrance tickets and lunch in Jaipur. If you want a hassle-free day with no extra cash needed on the ground, pick an all-inclusive tier.
Entrance tickets to Amber Fort, City Palace, Hawa Mahal and Jantar Mantar are only included if you select an option that lists them (the all-inclusive packages). On the base option, you'll pay the monument fees directly on the day — these are modest but do add up across four or five sites. If you prefer everything settled upfront, the all-inclusive tier saves you juggling cash at each gate.
There's a fair amount of walking across the day, and Amber Fort involves a steep uphill approach and cobbled ramps to reach the main courtyard. Most reasonably mobile travelers manage it comfortably, and jeeps are available up the hill for a small fee. City Palace and Hawa Mahal are far gentler. Wear sturdy, closed shoes and take your time — your private guide sets the pace to suit you.
October to March is ideal, with pleasant daytime temperatures perfect for exploring the forts. Jaipur summers (April to June) can exceed 40°C, making the long drive and open courtyards genuinely tiring. If you travel in the hot months, we strongly recommend the all-inclusive option so you're not walking to buy tickets in the heat — and the included mineral water becomes a real blessing.
Dress in light, breathable cotton with a hat and sunglasses, and pack strong sunscreen — much of Amber Fort and City Palace is open to the sun. Comfortable closed walking shoes are a must for the fort ramps. For temple areas, modest clothing that covers shoulders and knees is appreciated. Bottled water is provided in the car, but bring a little cash for the base-option ticket fees and any shopping.
Yes, it's family-friendly and works well for older travelers since you're in a private A/C car the whole way, with your own guide setting a flexible pace. The main consideration is the long round-trip drive plus the climb at Amber Fort. Families with young kids often love the elephants and views at the fort — if that's a highlight for you, the dedicated Jaipur elephant village experience makes a memorable add-on on another day.
Absolutely — this route is a photographer's dream. The Hawa Mahal facade is best shot in early-morning light from the cafe terraces opposite, while Amber Fort offers sweeping views over Maota Lake and the Aravalli hills. City Palace's Pritam Niwas Chowk with its painted gates is another favourite. Your guide knows the best vantage points and will happily help you frame the shots.
This is a fully private tour — just your group in your own air-conditioned car with a dedicated government-approved guide. There's no sharing with strangers and no fixed group itinerary, so you can linger longer at your favourite spots or adjust the plan on the day. If you want the same private, guided depth but based in Jaipur itself, see our private full-day sightseeing tour with a local expert guide.
The drive is about 5 to 5.5 hours each way along the modern NH48 (Delhi–Jaipur Expressway). Roads are good, and your driver will stop at a clean highway restaurant for tea, breakfast or a restroom break. Morning traffic leaving Delhi can add time, which is why an early departure matters. Sit back in the A/C car and enjoy the Rajasthan countryside rolling by.
Yes — many guests love browsing Johari Bazaar for jewellery and Bapu Bazaar for textiles and juttis, and your guide can factor in a stop if time allows. Bargaining is expected, so start low and stay friendly. Given the tight day-trip schedule, shopping is usually brief; if you're serious about crafts, a dedicated Jaipur craft and shopping experience with blue pottery and textile printing gives you far more room to browse and buy.
You can book instantly online and you'll receive an email confirmation with your voucher and pickup details. Most bookings qualify for free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start, so you can plan with confidence — check the exact terms on your confirmation. After booking, simply reply with your Delhi hotel address and preferred pickup time, and our team will finalise the arrangements with your driver and approved guide.
Many travelers pair Jaipur with Agra to complete India's Golden Triangle. While this particular tour is a Delhi–Jaipur day trip, if you're extending your journey you might enjoy our Jaipur to Agra Taj Mahal private day trip by car on a following day. Let our team know your dates and we'll help you build a smooth multi-city itinerary around this tour.
