The straightforward version: a private air-conditioned vehicle for every kilometre, a private guide for the sightseeing, and a choice of whether the monument tickets are bundled or paid at the gate.
What you see
Amer Fort, begun 1592 by Raja Man Singh, above Maota Lake. The Sheesh Mahal mirror chamber — the story goes the queen was not permitted to sleep outdoors, so a ceiling of stars was built for her indoors. The Ganesh Pol gateway with frescoes still holding colour after four centuries. The Sukh Niwas, cooled by water running through channels cut in the marble.
City Palace, still partly lived in by the royal family. The Mubarak Mahal costume collection, the two vast silver urns, and the four painted seasonal doorways of Pritam Niwas Chowk.
Hawa Mahal and Jantar Mantar as the hours allow, and Jal Mahal on the lake.
